Review- L'Oreal Magic Perfecting Base

It's been almost 2 years since my skin underwent some transformations which majorly included my pores getting huge and even more oily. L'oreal magic perfecting base came with the claim of minimizing pores and smoothing the skin so I went ahead and bought it. Keep reading to find out my thoughts about this product.

My Experience:
I'd literally go ahead and try out every product that claims to minimize pores or smooth skin but unfortunately I couldn't find any primer within my budget that focused on blurring pores or evening out the skin texture. I was particularly looking for silicone based primer so I searched and read some reviews after which I decided to give this one a try.

The L'oreal magic perfecting base comes in a small 15ml glass jar, definitely a lot smaller than what I had in my mind. It has a very smooth thick matte texture and feels velvety once blended into the skin.
The packaging suggest using the product in circular motions all over you face. However I have a slightly different approach. I take a very small amount and apply it on my cheeks and t-zone except the open pores on my cheeks. Then I take a little more and dab on my pores. This time I do not rub it in. I just dab until it sinks into my skin. I leave for about 30 seconds and start my foundation application.
I have to say this primer really impressed me. It does exactly what it says, makes my skin smooth but above all, blurs my pores. The minimizing/smoothing effect comes from silica which is one of it's ingredients. The rest of my face feels smooth too so it provides a nice texture for me to apply my regular foundation.
However for days when I'm using foundations with slightly dewy/natural finish, I have to dab the primer again at the end on my pores to make them blurry/matte. The blurred out effect is not very long lasting though. Unless I've sealed it up under powder and setting spray, it vanishes after a few hours.
One thing I want to make clear here is that this is not your basic primer with properties to make your foundation last long. In fact it will absolutely do nothing for elongating the life of makeup on your face. Just because it's not meant to do so. I'm happy that L'oreal didn't make any false claims here. It's supposed to make your skin smooth and blurred, it does that pretty well. It's as simple as that.

Overall I really like this primer. It does what it claims. Makes my skin really smooth and blurs out my pores and fine lines. However it will not help your foundation last long so you might wanna pair it up with a primer that make your makeup stay. Secondly I think it's a little overpriced for the amount you get.
A day back I went makeup shopping and I tried the bourjois skin smoothing primer at the counter. I realized that it gave almost the same result as this one. So when I'm out of this jar, I'll definitely give that one try.

Where To Buy: I had mine ordered from target but Pakistani girls can order it from Wishlist or Beauty in Budget4u.
Price: $12.99

Have you guys tried this? Which primer is your favorite?

Review-Mineralissima Cosmetics

Hey everyone!
Today i'm reviewing some products by Mineralissima which is a premium quality mineral makeup brand from Netherlands.

The Foundations

Mineral Foundation
Our mineral foundations are pure natural, crushed minerals which will make your skin look flawless and healthy. Suitable for even very sensitive skin types, Mineralissima foundations even out your skin tone, cover imperfections, provide sun protection (all our foundations have SPF15) yet feel weightless without drying out your skin. Our mineral foundations are water-resistant. When it comes to mineral foundation ingredients, less is definitely more! Our ingredients include only mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxides and zinc oxide. None of our foundations contain Bismuth Oxychloride

I've got two shades from their foundation range 1.2 Neutral Light and 3.0 Medium Warm

Mineralissima foundation in 3.0 Medium Warm

Mineralissima foundation in 1.2 Neutral Light.

Left:3.0
Right:1.2
1.2 is lighter than 3.0.
3.0 is a better match for my skin than the other one but still just slightly lighter but it doesn't appear ghostly or anything like that so i have used it a lot.
The texture of this foundation is nice and smooth and blends very well. My pores did minimize a bit after i applied it. This foundation feels very light on skin and doesn't clog pores.
The coverage it provides is light which can be built up to achieve a medium one.My acne scars hide after the 2nd application
It's staying power is okay keeping in mind that my skin produces a bit too much oil during summers.I do wish it lasted longer on my face because i have to carry it around with me for refreshing at later.
It has an SPF 15 which is a great plus it adds more protection to your face but i would still suggest you guys to wear your usual sunscreen underneath it if you are stepping out in day time.

FINAL NOTE: I'm very impressed with this foundation It light weight makes the skin look smooth and comes with an SPF too.

PRICE: €13.75 for a 10g jar.

The Blushes

Mineralissima Blushers:
Brighten your cheeks with these beautiful and natural-looking mineral blushers. Our gorgeous multi-tasking colours add a touch of colour to your skin while being nothing but pure and gentle powdery minerals

Sneaky Blusher

Foxy Blusher

Above: Sneaky Blusher
Below: Foxy Blusher

Sneaky Blusher: A beautiful shimmery muted pink blusher with an apricot undertone
Foxy Blusher: A beautiful semi-matte reddish blusher. Perfect for medium to darker skin types

These colors are just gorgeous! They give that classy sophisticated look to my face even if i'm wearing little amount of makeup.
Both the colors are very well pigmented and a little amount is needed for the these to show up on cheeks.
Both of them have a small amount of shimmer to them which is only seen in the jar,it hardly appears on face.
I personally think these colors are better suited at night since they are so bright and bold and look super glam. However they can also be used during the day if used a teeny weeny amount just to bring life to your cheeks
The sneaky blush instantly gives a lift to cheek bones.

FINAL NOTE: I absolutely adore these colors. They are bright, bold and look amazing when worn.Personally i only pick these kind of colors while buying blushers.
PRICE:  €11.00 for 5g Jar

The Bronzers

Left: Terracotta Bronzer
Right: Ibiza Bronzer
Terracotta Bronzer: A semi-matte natural bronzer suitable for medium skintones.
Ibiza Bronzer: A gorgeous mineral bronzer with subtle shimmer suitable for lighter skintones.

I don't use bronzers a lot except just for contouring me cheeks. But after i tried them i have started using them regularly. Ibiza looks quite light pale brownish color. it didn't give it's true color when i applied it with my brush but when i swatched it using my fingers and blended it on my skin,i saw a dark brown color with orange undertones on my finger tips. Terracotta is a bit different and it does show up just using the brush and it looks better on me too, but for Ibiza i have to use my fingers and blend under my cheekbones.
The pigmentation of these bronzers is good and they do last long on face. You can't use them for contouring since they have orange-ish undertones.

FINAL NOTE: They are quite unique shades and i like them both but i think i would prefer terracotta over Ibiza since it suits me better. Ibiza would be good for those light skinned girls who want to go for a tanned effect.
PRICE: €13.00

The Primer
Mineral Primer
A mattifying mineral primer suitable for the whole face but ideal for eye makeup.

Primers have become a permanent part of my makeup routine ever since my pores enlarged over this summer because of excessive breakouts on the same area continuously.
This primer does the job of minimizing pores quite well and makes the powder foundation last long. It even helps in achieving more of an air brushed look.It can be used over and under foundation.
It also works very well for eye shadows and makes their fading process slow. But it can be a bit tricky to use it over eyelids since it is powder.

FINAL NOTE: It is a must have if you have problem skin or want a nice smooth complexion.Works best when worn under mineral foundation.
PRICE: €7.50 for 5g Jar

Chiffon Finish Tan
Chiffon Finish Tan is a slightly darker version of our popular Chiffon Finish. It is transparent and can be used alone or as a finishing touch after applying foundation. A must-have for a smooth-looking skin!

When i first got it i thought it was for making the complexion look tan or something like that so i wasn't sure about it until i used it. I've just fallen in love with this product. It's not for tanning or anything, instead it is a finishing powder to help achieve a nice and smooth complexion. It totally does the job.Its texture is so silky smooth Since it is colorless it won't alter the color of your foundation but just smooth down everything to make your skin look flawless. It  even blurs out the lines and pores which you couldn't cover with your foundation.

FINAL NOTE: Definitely a must have. I love how smooth my skin looks after wearing this.
PRICE: €14.00 for 10g jar.

The Eyeshadows

Mineral Eyeshadows:
Play with Mineralissima mineral eyeshadows! Choose from our selection of beautiful multi-functional mineral colours to accentuate and define your eyes.

Left to Right: Envy,Hazel,Glam,Nude

Left: Galm
Right: Hazel

Left Envy
Right: Nude

Full sized jar: Mellow

Envy: A beautiful, light metallic green eyeshadow.
Glam: A rockstar-purple metallic eyeshadow
Hazel: A warm roasted hazelnut-colored eyeshadow.
Nude: A neutral, very light shimmery beige eyeshadow.
Mellow: A gorgeous, warm brown eyeshadow.

All of these shades have very fine shimmer to them. The pigmentation of these eyeshadows is quite good specially of glam and hazel. But i had trouble working with envy because it doesn't show up that well and may appear chalky if used too much. For this reason i use it mainly on the inner corner of my eyes or over my matte green shadow to make it look glamorous since the shimmer envy has is super pretty.
Nude is a neutral color with shimmer so i use it to highlight my brow bone.
I really liked Mellow which is a light brown color with a lot of golden shimmer. On lids it doesn't appear as brown as it looks in the container.
I had different expereiences with each of these shadows. But one thing is for sure that you have to use a good primer underneath for the colors to show up and last long. I did experience fall outs with these eye-shadows.

FINAL NOTE: I really like the shades Mineralissima offers in their eye-shadow range. However a primer has to be used under these eye shadows for a better result. I like the pigmentation of the darker shades.
PRICE: €4.95 for 2g Jar

After trying Mineralissima i think their products are something one won't regret
buying.
I actually really liked the foundation and the shades they offer in their blush and
bronzer range are gorgeous.
They have a lot of more stuff on their website to including finishing powders, mascaras,
eyeliners,lipglosses brushes etc
