Luscious Lip Couture Melted Lipsticks- Review & Swatches

My Thoughts

There's nothing I love more than pigmented long lasting lipsticks. These "Melted Lipsticks" by luscious are just what you'd expect from liquid lipsticks that you see all around the market nowadays except luscious has upped their game with introducing both matte and glossy finish in the line, so If you're someone who dreaded the liquid lipsticks because of how dry they feel on the lips, you might wanna check out the glossy version of these melted lipsticks.
Lets get into the matte ones first. The texture of these is somewhat similar to Nyx Soft matte lip creams except the ones by luscious are far more vibrant and pigmented, atleast the two I got are. They set as soon as you apply them on your lips so you need to work quickly. Paparazzi is a cool toned mauve which appears purple if I layer too much on my lips. Selfie is a bright "In your face" kinda orange and if you're into vibrant oranges you'll love this. The lasting time is pretty good as well, Selfie lasted on me for almost 8 hours and left a beautiful orange tinge behind.
If you've been following and using luscious products since a while you might remember the original Lip couture liquid lipsticks that luscious had a while back. I was a huge fan of those and was quite upset when they discontinued them but to my surprise these glossy melted lipsticks are almost exactly like the old version of lip couture. I absolutely love maestro since I'm a complete nude lip junkie and its just that perfect neutral pinky everyday colour that you can put on everyday without looking over the top. Red carpet is your very popular pinkish-red shade that's both day and night time appropriate. I sometimes just smear a little bit with my fingertip on my lips to give a nice reddish tint for a natural look. The lasting time is not as good as the matte ones obviously since they do transfer but I'd say being glossy they still last a good amount of time.

Final Verdict:

I absolutely love these melted lipsticks and will definitely try out more shades. The matte ones score a little more just because I love matte lipsticks and there are so many shades you will definitely find something for your taste in the range. Definitely a must try.

Review- Luscious Face Contour kit

The whole makeup industry is on a highlight/contour kick right now with tons of companies coming out with their versions of highlight and contour palettes. The luscious face contour kit that you guys see here was recently launched and features four shades-two contour and two highlighting powders.
I do like the bronze metallic case that it comes in and you get a guide inside showing techniques for highlighting and contouring different face shapes. The powders have a soft texture and are decently pigmented. In the pan the contour powders look cool toned however upon swatching the dark contour leans more towards warm side but thankfully it doesn't appear orangey on my skin tone (Im NC25 for reference) I use the dark contour to carve out my cheek bones and jawline and for my nose and sides of forehead I reach for the medium shade.

The highlighter, however, turned out better than what I had in mind. I'm very picky when it comes to highlighters because I have a few skin bumps right above my cheekbones so the last thing I want is to highlight those. But this one is quite subtle and gives a nice glow to my face rather than making it look like a disco ball. As for the white illuminator, I'm not a very big fan of this shade. It has a beautiful sheen and is supposed to be used on your under eye area for a lift but I felt like on my complexion it kind of turned my concealer grey. Even though it's not full on white and blends away but having strong yellow undertones, my skin couldn't keep up with this shade. This might look gorgeous on lighter skintones but it will probably put off darker complexions.

I have to say I'm not a huge contour person I mean I love watching contouring videos (bless you instagram) but in person I'd only contour my face for special events and that's why I never invested in big palettes like Anastasia baverly hills or the smashbox trio so for me, this palette does the job wonderfully. The only shade I'm missing here is a banana shade which looks beautiful under eyes. So the banana shade in place of the white illuminator would've made this palette a huge hit. But nonetheless I'm happy with rest of the shades and for a person like me whose not into putting too much effort for contouring, this is actually a pretty good palette.
The luscious Face contour kit is available online on the luscious cosmetics website as well as drugstores nationwide and is priced at 2250Pkr.

NOTD- Luscious Designer Nail Color-Sania Maskatiya

Luscious launched their designer nail colors sometime back. The shades looked amazing so I got myself a few of those. Today I'm wearing "Sania Maskatiya".

Sania Maskatiya is a bright pastel yellow. I personally love pastels for nails so this color is one of my favourites from the collection. The formulation, however, put me off. It's a little thick and doesn't dry quickly. I have to wait a little more for the application of two coats.

Have you tried the designer nail colors by luscious? Which one is your favourite?

Review- Luscious Ultimate Face Case

All essential face brushes in one bag? Sounds exciting!.Luscious has this time introduced an Ultimate face case which promises to full fill all your facial makeup needs

Large Powder Brush

Stippling Brush

Angled Contouring Brush

Foundation Brush

Double Ended Concealer Brush

My Experience:

Compiling basic face brushes in one compact is a brilliant idea. I think the name justifies the contents of the case, you get five brushes that are essential for evening out your complexion.

The brushes come in a nice silver quilted pouch. Inside we have the large Powder brush, Stippling brush, Foundation brush, Contour brush and a double ended concealer brush. All of them have the standard brush size.

Starting with the powder brush, it's pretty big but extremely soft. Honestly, I did not expect this brush to be so soft. I love how the bristles feel silky on my face. It's soft enough to buff out even my liquid foundation. As I said the head of this brush is big, it takes very less time for the application of the product on my face.

Then there's the stippling brush which, in my opinion, is a very clever addition. My 2 favorite ways of applying liquid foundation are stippling and the beauty blender. If you want a nice and even coverage you do need a stippling brush. Basically it stipples on the pigment of the foundation on on your face rather then moving away the coverage as happens usually with the sponge, fingers or the foundation brush. This stippling brush however has a smaller head then its ancestor which was sold individually, so it does take a little longer for application of the product. Other than that it shed 2-3 bristles during the last week while I used it.

Another highlight of this case is the contouring brush. I do get a lot of queries about contouring and blush brushes in the kits and thankfully this case does come with one. Blush can be applied with the usual powder brushes but problem comes for bronzers. You need to have an angled brush for proper contouring of your cheeks, jaw line and sides of forehead. This is a right sized brush which would work for everyone. Again the bristles are soft and feel nice during application.

Then we have foundation brush. This too is a little smaller but dense. I found that it leaves less streaks then the other brushes I have. Those who take the help of this brush for their regular foundation application will enjoy working with this brush.

The double ended concealer brush is last of the five tools. On one side, there's the flat concealer brush for application and blending of liquid concealers under eyes or around corners of nose and at the other end we have the pointed brush designed for the application of concealer on spots like acne scars or moles both of them pretty well. I can also see that the pointy brush can be used to line your lips or fill them in.

Overall I quite like this whole face case. I did try to find cons but I didn't really see any except for a very rare shedding from the stippling brush. However I would have loved it if there was a flat buffer included in there. Since the quality of the powder brush is pretty good luscious can easily come up with an excellent buffer as well. Most of the girls are not comfortable with paying thousands of bucks on just a single brush from sigma or mac so if luscious introduces some nice buffers or precision brushes it would come in handy.

Review- Luscious Duo Fibre Stippling Brush

In past couple of months,I focused on trying both, eye and face brushes. Since stippling brushes are so popular these days,I went ahead and bought the Luscious Duo Fibre Stippling brush.

Duo Fibre Stippling Brush

What it is:
This brush perfect for blending makeup—wet or dry—into the skin for a flawless finish.

What it does:
Features a blend of natural bristles and synthetic fibres to pick up two layers of product, which creates a satiny appearance. The dense bristles give ultimate control and lets you layer product beautifully—depending on how sheer or heavy you want your coverage to be. Can be used with dry or creamy products, like stick foundation, liquid shimmer or highlighting powders.

*This brush is made from synthetic and natural fibres, some shedding of the hairs is normal.

My Experience:

I'm kind of picky about my face brushes, simply because of some bad experiences I've had with a couple of brands. Since luscious produces quality products,I wasn't reluctant to try this brush out.

It comes in a plastic handle so it's quite lighter than my coastal scents flat top buffer. The small luscious logo at the end of handle faded away after I used it a couple of times.

When I got this brush,I tried it out with a liquid foundation. What I did wrong here was that instead of stippling,I swirled it on my face which was a really bad idea. It shed a few bristles which was annoying. Then I went for the proper stippling motions and at that moment I realised,This is an amazing brush.

The good thing is that, even though it shed bristles the first time I used it, but after I washed it,It did not shed again.Perfectly fine for me.

Talking about the result,I'm very impressed with the finish I get, with both,Liquid and cream foundations. It gives a very nice and even application. You can actually build up coverage using this brush pretty well.So this is the brush you might want to use when going for a better coverage, because it stipples on the product, building up the coverage on that area.
One thing I noticed while using this brush (and it must be the case with all stippling brushes out there) is that I have to use the foundation which matches my skin-tone the most,If I use a darker or lighter toned foundation,my face ends up looking exactly the colour of my foundation, which looks pretty weird unless I buff it out.So be careful with that, specially if the foundation has medium coverage unless you want to pack on a different color but since I hate looking like a washed out ghost,I do actually use the foundation that matches my skin the most.

Apart from foundation,I also use this brush for powder and blush application.I think it performs the job very well. I love to apply my cream blushes with it. It blends them beautifully and how can I forget,It's perfect for applying my sleek glisten me liquid Iluminator.

The best thing about a stippling brush is that it needs an extremely small amount of product. Almost half of what you would use If you used your fingers or the conventional foundation brush( I personally don't like the typical foundation brush).I was kind of surprised how it picked up a small amount and I was able to cover most of my face with it. This is probably the best part.Your product doesn't get wasted or eaten.

Overall, I really like this brush a lot. It's quite easy on the pocket too so if anyone out there is looking for a nice foundation brush, but has a slightly tight budget, they should definitely give it a try. This is the brush that I carry in my bag since I use it for application of several products.

Review- Luscious Hydrating Lip Primer

If you guys are following the Luscious cosmetics Facebook fanpage,Then by now, you would've read about their Signature Lipstick range that they are planning to launch soon. The interesting thing here is that they have, for the very first time in Pakistan, introduced a Lip primer in this range. This did catch my attention and I had an opportunity to try out the Lip primer.

My Experience:
This was my first ever encounter with a lip primer. Even though lip primers have been around since a while and are being offered by different international companies,I never really paid any heed to them because my makeup style is totally understated lips.Even sometimes bare. I normally prime my lips with a concealer if ever needed.

Starting with the packaging,It's totally different from their previous one. Now it's a plastic case with the shade of lipstick indicated by this round ball like thing. It actually reminds me of NYX black label lipstick. What you guys think?

In case any of you guys are wondering,a lip primer is something that's applied on bare lips before applying lipstick or gloss and it is supposed to help give a nice base for your lipstick to glide on and make it last longer without feathering or bleeding.

As for me,feathering or bleeding is not a problem since I never wear bold colors but yes, staying power is my major concern specially because I have weird habits of licking my lips and munching every second.

So I tested this with 2 products,1st with my rimmel vinyl max gloss which has a problem of feathering and accumulating in the lines of my lips and then with my NYX round lipstick which doesn't have a good staying power.

The bullet has no color and glides on smoothly. It's moisturising and makes my lips very smooth for the lipstick to be applied. I did like it with NYX round lipstick because it made it glide on more smoothly then it normally does and helped deliver the color  more quickly to some extent.
As with the vinyl gloss,It already is a very smooth textured gloss but what I wanted to test was the creasing of color. Normally after a while the dark pink color easily builds up in the lines of my lips, with this primer on,I would not say they completely vanished, but the amount somewhat decreased. Maybe if the texture of primer was more rich it would help it even more.
But It did help increase the life of both the products on my lips.

Over all my experience with this primer was very good keeping in mind that it's my first lip primer. It does provide a very nice base for your lip products to be applied and helps them stay in place.I'm waiting for the weather to change slightly and then I'll update you guys on how well it works in summers. But this is definitely a nice addition to Luscious cosmetics lip range. Its a good thing that they keep on experimenting and bring out new products every now and then.

This product will be launched soon so stay tuned :)

Do you guys use lip primer? Which one do you like?
Do let me know :)

Review+Swatches- Luscious Single Eyeshadows

Today I'm going to talk about Luscious Cosmetics' Single eye-shadows.The ones I have are in Royal and Limelight.

Luscious Single Eyeshadow
Are you sick of eyeshadows that fade after you apply them?
We’ve got the perfect solution!Luscious Eyeshadows are luxuriously creamy, rich, and blendable. They are packed with intense color that will never crease or fade. Enhance your eyes with delicate shimmer and a plush, velvety finish.

L: Limelight
R: Royal

My Experience:
I don't have a lot of single eyeshadows in my stash except some basic colors.I think It's nice to have the colors that you use a lot as single shades so that you can pop them in your bag whenever you want to and not carry around palettes. Luscious has this range of single shades since a long time.
They have 12 colors as single shades,I have Royal and Limelight here.
Royal is your basic purple shade with silver sheen.Limelight is a lime-green color with white undertones.
The texture of these shadows is smooth and soft. Royal gets picked up very easily and it's pigmentation is good too.I basically like purples and violets on my eyes so I like it on it's own or blended with another color.Limelight is also a nice shade but I did face problems with the proper building up of color since it's very light and has white undertones so it can be a bit tricky to make the lime green color show up on your lids.I used it wet and it was somewhat easier for me to work with it that way.Make sure you use a good primer underneath though.
What I'm happy about is that I experienced relatively less fall out with the shadows specially Royal.I didn't face creasing for sometime.
The casing is simple and light weight and contains 2.5 grams of product.
I think I like to use them wet more than using them dry. Both the colors are attractive. The other 10 colors look interesting on the site too. I think I'm gonna get antique gold and baby pink for myself in future and see how they are.
Over all I think these shades are nice and pretty. I cannot talk about the pigmentation of whole range of these shades because I feel it might differ according to the color. But for the ones I tried they are pretty good
Price: 325Pkr for a single shadow.

So have you guys tried any color from the range? What's your favourite shadow?
Do let me know :)
