Review- Sally Hansen Pumice Foot Polish

It's the first time I've used a granulated foot polish. Sally hansen's pumice foot polish promises to nourish and deodorize rough and dry feet. Let's see if it actually works.

My Experience:
I normally don't use any sort of treatment for my feet except the usual Vaseline or body butter regiment during extreme winter. So this foot polish was rather a new experience for me since it's granulated and is basically meant for  dry and rough sole.

The texture of this polish is very creamy and thick with lots of small granules to serve the purpose of exfoliation. It has a mild lavender scent which is not overpowering however personally, I like my skin treatments more scented  but it's just my choice, I know alot of people who don't like scented products so it's not going to bother anyone.
I've been using this before going to bed 1-3 times a week. My hands just feel really weird massaging my heels because of the amount of granules so I use the my foot massager to do this for me. I squeeze out a little amount on the head of my massager and massage for about 1 minute or until the cream has penetrated the epidermal layer of my feet. You can also use your pumice stone to rub it in your skin.
This does actually make my feet a lot more smooth and soft. Even though they weren't that rough before, but the appearance of the texture of my skin has definitely gone better. I do feel that this can also be used on legs for exfoliation if they are dry or rough.
Overall this is a nice product to add in to your foot care regime.

Review- Six Plus Precision Synthetic Brush Set

Okay I know I've been MIA for some time but we all know this part of year comes with hell  loads of commitments including exams projects and what not? I just got partially free so here's a review post for you all.
This is the precision synthetic 10 piece brush kit by Six Plus. It's a china based brand and is fairly new to me. Read on for a detailed review about the brushes.

SixPlus 10 Piece precision synthetic brush kit.

The kit comes in a cardboard box
Face Brushes

Round Top Buffer

Flat Top Buffer
Flat Top Angled Brush
Tapered Face Brush
Round Top Angled Brush

Precision Eye Brushes
Round Top Angled Brush
Flat Top Brush

Round Top Brush
Flat Top Angled Brush
Tapered Brush

My Experience:
The brushes were smaller then what I had in mind. I was thinking more of a size like one of my coastal scents brushes, but I personally don't find their size a problem. Infact, they occupy lesser volume in my brush holder and makeup bag both so the size was an advantage for me. Also they are lighter in weight then my coastal scents brushes.

They come in a small box with magnetic opening. All the brushes are amazingly soft, silky, and allow a really gentle application. The kit includes all the essential face brushes that one might want. I do notice a striking similarity to sigma's precision kit over here and I think a little impression has definitely been taken from the brand.
Here's an individual small review regarding quality and application of each brush.

Round Top Buffer: It's one of my favorites from the kit. It's more dense then others and applies liquid  foundation seamlessly.
Round Top Angled: Like the buffer, this one is dense too. I love applying my liquid and cream blushes with it including bronzers.
Tapered Brush: This one's more of a specific brush that works on areas like corners of nose, chin or around the mouth. You can't really apply foundation on the whole face with it. Of all the face brushes, this one's the most stiff and this is the reason why I like it.
Flat Top Buffer: Having tried other flat top buffers, I'd have to say this one might not be the best out there. It's not dense and since the bristles are more lengthy, it lacks the stiffness of a usual buffer. Also, it can loose it's shape pretty easily. So this will only work for lightly applying powder foundation.
Flat Angled: I use this for my powder blushes and even though it's not that stiff, the application of powder goes smooth.

Small Round Top Buffer: This brush works exactly like the big buffer except that I use it for my liquid concealer around the eyes. Love it.
Small Round Top Angled: A perfect brush for contouring. I use it on my cheekbones, nose and jawline.
Small Tapered Brush:  This one's even more stiff then it's bigger version and can be used around the corners of eyes and dabbing concealer right on spots.
Small Flat Top Buffer: Again, it's not that stiff so I only use to to set my concealer with powder.
Flat Angled: I have kept this brush solely for the purpose of applying highlighter on my cheekbones and along the bridge of nose.

As I mentioned above, my favorites from the kit are the round top, round angled,  and the tapered brushes, both bigger and smaller. The head region might not be that big but applies their respective products really well. The Flat top ones would've been great if the bristles were shorter. Also they aren't neatly cut from the top.
The cleaning of these brushes is pretty easy since they are small and light. Till now I have not noticed any shedding or bristles even though I've washed them 3 times.

Over All I actually really like these brushes. They have an amazing quality and the best thing is they are cheap.
The brushes come in different combination of sets so you can choose whichever kit that clicks. They're even sold individually for $5.99(Small precision brushes) and $6.99(large Face Brushes) so you can just grab any one that you like.

NOTD- Luscious Designer Nail Color-Sania Maskatiya

Luscious launched their designer nail colors sometime back. The shades looked amazing so I got myself a few of those. Today I'm wearing "Sania Maskatiya".

Sania Maskatiya is a bright pastel yellow. I personally love pastels for nails so this color is one of my favourites from the collection. The formulation, however, put me off. It's a little thick and doesn't dry quickly. I have to wait a little more for the application of two coats.

Have you tried the designer nail colors by luscious? Which one is your favourite?

NOTD-Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish in Cherry Up

It's been a while since I did a nail post so here it is for today. I'm wearing Sally hansen's Complete Salon Manicure in Cherry Up. Take a look.

Cherry up is a bright fuchsia pink and looks super fun on nails. I'm wearing two coats over here, but the opacity was good enough that the color showed up evenly on the first application. The consistency is perfect and the formula dried quickly. It was resistant to chipping until the start of the third day.

So what are you guys wearing on nails today?

Review- Color Studio Matt Perfection Cream Foundation

Color Studio's Matt Perfection foundation promises to cover imperfections leaving a natural matte finish. With the weather leaning towards the unpleasent-hot side, everyone including me is switching to products with a matte finish and light texture.  Lets see if this foundation lives up to it's claims.

My Experience:

Color Studio's Matt Perfection foundation is a light weight cream foundation with a nice and smooth texture. At the very first glance this had a spongy mousse kind of appearance but right after I swatched it, the creamier side of the product appeared. It comes in a sleek black case, exactly same as the invincible powder compact. Since the two are from the high performance makeup range, they share the same packaging.

Ivory is a medium shade with yellow undertones. It looks pretty orange inside the pan, but upon application it turns lighter. Ivory is perfect for NC25-30 skin tones.

As much as I love cream foundations because of their coverage, I do get annoyed by the fact they feel too heavy on skin and in summers, creams are a big No for me. Surprisingly, this foundation was a lot different from all of the cream compacts I've tried so far.
The texture is actually very light and applies sheer on a single application. The swatch above is a result of 2-3 swipes. This was basically what I loved about this particular foundation. It feels extremely light on skin without appearing cakey. So my skin is actually able to breathe underneath and I don't have to worry about clogging of pores.
It gives a complete matte finish, with a smooth overall appearance. Those with dry skin, will have to give their skin a fair amount of moisture before application as it can pretty much enhance dry patches on your skin.
As for me, I like to apply it with a wet sponge (the same that comes with the packing). It helps me with an even application and gives a more natural finish.I make sure I don't use it in patting motions on areas where I have big pores as it can accumulate inside the them which doesn't look nice. I'd suggest using swiping motions for a better result.
You get a light coverage with this foundation which can be built up to fairly medium one but I wont suggest doing that. I use a spot-on concealer on my acne scars and under eyes with it If I want a better coverage.
It leaves my skin matte for about 4-5 hours depending on whether I set it with a powder or not. On normal days, when not much exertion is expected, I can easily wear it off alone and remain carefree for the day. Otherwise I do make sure I set it with a powder to increase it's staying power.

End Note: This is an amazing cream foundation for day to day use during summer regardless of the skin type. It's light weight, non cakey and makes your skin stay matte for a good amount of time. However a moisturiser is essential before application. Those who like a little more coverage, will need to pair it up with a good concealer to hide imperfections.

Review- Color Studio Invincible Water and Heat Proof Powder Compact

Hello you guys!! Okay I know I've been away for a while because of some camera issues but it was getting a little too long so today, I just decided to put everything aside and bring in a review for you all.

So this is a newly launched product by Color Studio Pro, The Invincible powder compact.

My Experience:

Judging by the name, the target audience for this powder compact are all the oilies like me. They've used very convincing name and description for the product I must say, it does grab attention for someone like me whose always afraid of a greasy face.

The shade I have is beige, It should be perfect for medium skin tones. But the color of the powder is not very dominant. there is a tint, but it's not overpowering unless you're packing on a way darker color.
It comes in a simple black compact and you get a nice and soft puff inside. I like that there's a mirror in there as well.

Even though spring is almost here, it's still a little cold in my city. But nonetheless I've used it for over a week now. At Color Studio's facebook page, I read they've mentioned the right way to apply a powder. It's by taking the powder on the puff, and applying it by rolling and pressing the puff on to your skin. You'll be surprised to see how minimized your pores appear. Try it right now with your powder and you'll see.
Anyway I apply this powder in the same way and it makes my skin look really smooth. It provides a nice silky finish without looking cakey because the texture is very light and the powder is actually very fine.
But I do warn you if you have dry patches on your skin, it's clearly going to accentuate them so if you have a combination or normal skin make sure you moisturise your face before applying this or use a liquid foundation underneath that doesn't absorb oil from your face.

The oil controlling power, uptil now is quite good. I say this because it's not too hot over here, but still my skin produces a fair amount of oil during the day and the powder is able to control that pretty well for about 3-5 hours. It's actually not before april when my sebaceous glands get crazy. Trust me when I say crazy! right now my skin is exhibiting the combination type mode, so for that it has been working really well .
It's not transfer resistant so it might stain your clothing items scarves, dupattas etc.
I wouldn't say its an "all day" waterproof powder but it is quite strong against my skin's oil, better then my revlon vital radiance powder.

As for the coverage,I do have a lot of acne scars on my face and it doesn't really cover them. So it's not something that I'd use to add on coverage to my face. I use it purely for mattifying and oil controlling purposes

It is on a little pricier side from the color studio range. but I'm stil waiting for summers to give it a hard test and see if the price is justified. For now it's quite efficient in controlling the normal amount of oil from my face while I'm in university so I do really like it, specially because of how light it feels on my skin.

Review- Luscious Ultimate Face Case

All essential face brushes in one bag? Sounds exciting!.Luscious has this time introduced an Ultimate face case which promises to full fill all your facial makeup needs

Large Powder Brush

Stippling Brush

Angled Contouring Brush

Foundation Brush

Double Ended Concealer Brush

My Experience:

Compiling basic face brushes in one compact is a brilliant idea. I think the name justifies the contents of the case, you get five brushes that are essential for evening out your complexion.

The brushes come in a nice silver quilted pouch. Inside we have the large Powder brush, Stippling brush, Foundation brush, Contour brush and a double ended concealer brush. All of them have the standard brush size.

Starting with the powder brush, it's pretty big but extremely soft. Honestly, I did not expect this brush to be so soft. I love how the bristles feel silky on my face. It's soft enough to buff out even my liquid foundation. As I said the head of this brush is big, it takes very less time for the application of the product on my face.

Then there's the stippling brush which, in my opinion, is a very clever addition. My 2 favorite ways of applying liquid foundation are stippling and the beauty blender. If you want a nice and even coverage you do need a stippling brush. Basically it stipples on the pigment of the foundation on on your face rather then moving away the coverage as happens usually with the sponge, fingers or the foundation brush. This stippling brush however has a smaller head then its ancestor which was sold individually, so it does take a little longer for application of the product. Other than that it shed 2-3 bristles during the last week while I used it.

Another highlight of this case is the contouring brush. I do get a lot of queries about contouring and blush brushes in the kits and thankfully this case does come with one. Blush can be applied with the usual powder brushes but problem comes for bronzers. You need to have an angled brush for proper contouring of your cheeks, jaw line and sides of forehead. This is a right sized brush which would work for everyone. Again the bristles are soft and feel nice during application.

Then we have foundation brush. This too is a little smaller but dense. I found that it leaves less streaks then the other brushes I have. Those who take the help of this brush for their regular foundation application will enjoy working with this brush.

The double ended concealer brush is last of the five tools. On one side, there's the flat concealer brush for application and blending of liquid concealers under eyes or around corners of nose and at the other end we have the pointed brush designed for the application of concealer on spots like acne scars or moles both of them pretty well. I can also see that the pointy brush can be used to line your lips or fill them in.

Overall I quite like this whole face case. I did try to find cons but I didn't really see any except for a very rare shedding from the stippling brush. However I would have loved it if there was a flat buffer included in there. Since the quality of the powder brush is pretty good luscious can easily come up with an excellent buffer as well. Most of the girls are not comfortable with paying thousands of bucks on just a single brush from sigma or mac so if luscious introduces some nice buffers or precision brushes it would come in handy.

Review- New Range of Garnier Face Washes

Garnier introduced a new range of facewashes during the end of novemeber. Scroll down to read my thoughts on them.

                                                              Gentle Soothing FaceWash
                                                                  Light-Gentle Exfoliating Scrub
Pure Exfoliating Facewash

Left to Right:Pure Exfoliating Facewash-Gentle Soothing Facewash-Light Scrub

My Experience:
Facewashes can be pretty scary for me, but fortunately the ones by garnier came without any drastic claims or description on them. If you don't already know my skin is the most sensitive mass of cells ever created on this earth. I cannot try out skincare products just like that because of the immense amount of breakouts I get.

It's been almost a week since I'm using the soothing facewash and I quite like it. It's nice and soft on your skin and most of all, doesn't dry it out. I've used it on alternate days so eventhough I've given my face some good washes with it, I still think I need a little more work with it to develope an overall opinion. The facewash is indeed soothing and has a nice cooling effect when applied.

As much as I like exfoliating,  I can't do it that often, again, sensitive skin!. The exfoliating facewash looks quite gentle to me with blue micro exfoliating beads. It has the signature garnier scent,If you guys ever used those garnier pimple zapping tubes (I don't remeber their names), you'll find it's scent pretty similar to those. I think it has something to do with the blue logo. Anyways, right now I'm still on a test drive with the soothing facewash so an update will be made once I'm done testing this one. This facewash is for combination to oily skin types.

The light scrub is from the garnier light range and like other products within this range, it promises to remove tan and make your skin lighter. I have used this scrub 2-3 times in the last week. I'm not sure about the tan, but it does leave my skin quite soft and smooth. It comes with orange scrubbing beads which are really tiny. This is definitely one of the gentle scrubs I've tried so I may be able to use it more then the usual scrubs.

The best thing about this whole skincare range would definitely be the price. All of these three products are on the lower edge of price scale so giving them a try would not be questionable.

Where To Buy: Garnier's new facewash range is available nationwide on leading stores.
Price: Both the facewashes are for 110Pkr while the scrub retails for 129Pkr.
